Everybody has their favorites. Favorite restaurant, favorite movie, favorite color and in honor of the rapidly approaching holidays we’re sharing our favorite goodies with you! That’s right, just like the Sound of Music or Queen O these are a few of our favorite things. I also feel like it is important to note that no one is bribing us to say good things about their products. We just have some serious love in our hearts for these items and wanted to share.
So let’s get this holiday countdown started with some serious spice. Literally. A while back I was gifted a box of Penzey’s Spices. Since I love to cook I considered it an incredibly thoughtful gift. Little did I know this unassuming little box was going to rock my culinary world!
I should have expected greatness when I opened the box to find the spices packaged in cinnamon sticks, bay leafs and nutmeg! Major score!
While ALL of their spices are absolutely bomb-diggity. (Yup, I went there) our favorite, hands down is the Four S. Burgers, French Fries, Breakfast Potatoes, Steak, Pork Chops are all a bagillion times better with 4 S.
We’re so fond of Penzey’s that when it came time to order holiday gifts we knew exactly where to go. Even after a crazy long week, a box of Penzey’s just makes me smile.
That’s not all! In honor of our favorite goodies and holiday gifting we’re having our first GIVE-A-WAY!! Woot Woot!
The Details: We’re giving away one (1) 4 ounce jar of Penzey’s 4S. The giveaway closes on Wednesday, December 21st at 12:01pm. The winner will be determined via random.org. Prize ships anywhere in the USA. To enter comment below and tell us: What is your Favorite Spice? One entry per person.

my favorite spice is chili powder. i put it in alot of stuff!
Garlic salt is my favorite spice. I keep it on top of my stove at all times. I even use it on corn on the cob instead of plain salt. It’s awesome because it gives me bad breath!
Cumin! I adore Mexican food and it can never have too much cumin. The deep smokey flavor can’t be beat.
We use a lot of Lawry’s Season Salt in our house. Also, red pepper flakes, though I’m not sure if those are a spice…
I really LOVE me some Cumin!!! Yes, it smells a little like dirty feet, but it sure adds flavor to some of my favorite dishes!
Cinnamon is my favorite spice. I love the taste of course, especially when it’s used with it’s BFF brown sugar, but the way it smells always reminds me of home. :)
My favorite spice is cinnamon. I use it in pumpkin pies and my pumpkin pies are delicious I am told.
My favorite spice is Trader Joe’s 21 Seasoning Salute. It is salt free but so flavorful and can be used on anything. I use it to season meat before we BBQ, sprinkle it on salads, eggs, and more!
My favorite spice has always been Lawry’s seasoning salt. My parents always used it when I was a kid and I can still see a bottle of it sitting on Pop’s bar-b-que. Of late, we also use it in when making Bloody Marys! On a non-related topic, I note that one of your fur children has yet to be in a blog photo….Someone else who reads your blog noticed this and we vote for a picture of “the red-headed step child” ASAP.
